Position Summary
The Director of Marketing is responsible for overall product planning
management for SEA's LED & LCD TV category. The candidate for this
position must possess a strong understanding of US CE retail channels.
The candidate must also excel at creation and execution of product
marketing strategies to achieve Samsung's short term and long term
business objectives.
Common Essential Duties & Resp.
- Responsible for achieving the Samsung brand LED & LCD TV goals for:
- Sales
- Profit
- Market Share
- Price Positioning (API)
- Forecast accuracy
- Aged inventory
- Oversee weekly unit demand forecasts based on analysis of channel
inventory, sell-through history, future promotions, competitive
activity, and seasonality by model and by key account.
- Responsible for revenue sales estimates on a weekly basis. Identify
gaps vs. management plan, market share goals, and customer forecasts,
and develop corrective action plans.
- Develops and implements 3 year, annual, quarterly, and monthly sales
plans.
- Leads future LED & LCD TV product development plans, providing
direction to Samsung Korea Product Planning, Product Marketing, Area
Marketing, and R&D groups, based on Samsung America's strategic goals,
competitive information, and customer/consumer insights.
- Supervise team of product marketing managers on execution of
strategies. Responsible for growth & development of team members.
- Direct Marcomm group in creation of ATL/BTL LED & LCD TV materials,
collateral sales support materials, training materials, and online
assets.
- Support account managers in the areas of assortments, forecasts, and
promotional planning.
Necessary Skills / Attributes
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Business Administration and / or MBA
degree a plus
- 10+ years of experience in Consumer Electronics product marketing
(preferably display/video products)
- Strong knowledge of US CE retail distribution channels
- Exemplary negotiation, leadership, and professional presentation
skills
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
